As a half-German woman (my mother is German all the way), I felt I needed a dirndl for Oktoberfest gatherings. I found a Burda pattern for the mature woman and some calico from FabMo and sewed myself an authentic outfit. I also made the heart-shaped bag. I wore it for the first time at the Monroe Wisconsin Cheese Fest, and have it worn it many times since, including in the Lang Family Christmas Card from 2022.
